Brian Griffith

President

Brian served in the Canada military for 29 years, successfully completing numerous international deployments as a tactical helicopter pilot, retiring in 2019.  Concurrently Brian was a law enforcement officer, retiring in 2017. Currently, he is filling a critical role, flying for STARS Air Ambulance.

The passion for horse training, specializing in starting colts on both sides of the 49th parallel for over 25 years, has also led him down a rodeo career path which started with rough stock schools, amateur rodeos competing in saddle bronc and bareback. He decided to also compete in the timed event end of the arena in breakaway and team roping, which led him to an All Round Buckle in 2018.

Brian continues to train horses and host clinics at the Griffith Ranch, North of Gibbons, AB. He still competes in amateur rodeos, roping jackpots, ranch roping, and ranch horse competitions.

Brian is a founding member of the EPS Rodeo team that began competing at the Calgary Police Rodeo in 2015 with 4 members, that rodeo team has grown to over 25 first responders which always give Calgary members a run for their money.  At the conclusion of the 2017 CPS event, around a campfire and after a few whiskey’s, Brian and a group of team members thought a police rodeo should be held in Edmonton, and the rest, as they say, is history… Let ‘er Buck!
